A young democracy in motion. Timor-Leste's 2018 election season brought rival party rallies to the streets with flags, painted faces, and a fierce, performative pride that doubled as political expression. This series documents the texture of democratic participation in a country two decades into self-governance, where the ritual of campaigning carries weight beyond the ballot: a public rehearsal of sovereignty, still being written.
